Jagadam Tollywood Movie Review

It is fashion for Sukumar to chose typical subjects. That was understood with his first film 'Arya' itself. He has chosen 'one side love' there and here he zeroed on 'violence is fashion'.

Srinu (Ram) is the guy who gets fascinated towards violence and extremism since his childhood. He loves fighting (Jagadam). Eventually he turns riffraff and joins the gang of a big hooligan, Bottu Manickyam (Pradeep Rawat).Subba Lakshmi (Isha) is a clean, class and neat girl, who falls in love with riffraff Srinu. The film is about the jagadam between Srinu and Bottu Manikyam. The normal guy, Srinu, who joins the gang, turns a hard nut to bite for Bottu Manickyam slowly. He develops hold on Danda and increases his image in public surpassing the right hand (AS Ravi Kumar Chowdary) of Bottu Manickyam as well. Fight starts between Srinu and Manickyam with a land settlement issue

The reason for that Jagadam is as follows:

After Srinu gets into Bottu Manickyam's gang, Subba Lakshmi brings a person to Srinu and asks him to save his land from illegal occupants. Srinu gives word to Subba Lakshmi and approaches Bottu Manickyam to help him. But immediately he realizes that the illegal occupants of that land were none other than the people belonging to Bottu Manickyam. So, Manickyam denies Srinu but Srinu revolts. The jagadam starts then.

The consequences thereafter lead to complete action part in the film. On the other hand, Srinu's younger brother, who is just 10 year old, happens to kill a gangster with a revolver out of fashion. The gangster belongs to Bottu Manickyam. So, Manickyam takes revenge in his own way. What is the revenge and what were the further consequences? Everything has to be watched on screen. Finally, the film gets concluded with a message.

Jagadam Telugu Cinema Review

Ram improved a lot from his first film, Devadasu in the matter of histrionics, originality and expressions. But his dialogue delivery is bad. Many of his dialogues prove hard to understand. He fumbles words and attention is needed for him to correct that part. New heroine Isha is only for glamour quotient but nothing more. There is no big part to play for her than loving the hero.

Director A.S Ravi Kumar Chowdary did well as right hand to Pradeep Rawat. He can be a good regular villain down the line. Pradeep Rawat justified his part. Raghubabu has nothing to play in the film and he is not rightly used. Saranya is appearing on screen these days as mother to heroes. She did in Rakhi little while ago and now again appeared as mother to Ram. Tanikella Bharani, Telangana Shakuntala and Prakash Raj glow and go in guest roles. Monalisa tested the testosterone with her dance for the song '36 24 36'. Madhushalini also appears in a stanza of that song. All other songs also pictured well. Devi Sri Prasad's music and lyrics by Chandrabose, Sahiti and Shakti worked really well. The songs bestowed a big treat for audiences.

Jagadam Filem Review

Sukumar's narration is gripping till the interval but lacks perfection in second half. The intelligence and shrewdness of her to quench his passion of becoming a Goonda is rightly unleashed in first half. But the shrewd elements are lacking in second half and that became a routine stunt flick. Climax of the film kicks the graph downwards. Although the message is welcomed in positive sense, the mass audiences find it difficult to bite that at the climax. Screenplay proves to be perfect.

First half of the film is gripping while second half goes average. Comedy is completely situational and there is no separate track. It's an attempt to show Ram in a mass appealing role. At the same time, a message is incorporated in the film which unleashes at the grand finale. Finally this message is conveyed through a young lad, the younger brother of Ram. Only the mass audiences are real patrons of this film. If the film attracts repeated audiences, then we can consider that it is a safe venture.
