Yaan Kollywood Movie Review
The story begins with a shootout and in the midst is caught Chandru (jiiva) with Srila (thulasi). This is the first time he has seen her and falls in love. Though Srila keeps him away, eventually she falls for him. Chandru has to go to Balkistan for work but gets caught for possession of drugs which he is not aware. He faces the punishment of beheading and whether he is able to prove his innocence or not forms the rest.
Yaan Tamil Cinema Review
The director has come up with a neat storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was not that absorbing. The dialogues were well written. The script was above average but the screenplay could have been better. The background score was not upto the mark and songs were worth watching. Cinematography was the saving grace to this film. Editing was required at few places. Costumes were well designed to suit the style and fashion while the art department was appealing. Jiiva has given a committed performance and he does well. Thulasi Nair was confident and did her bit as required. Nasser was natural. Jayaprakash was apt. Thambi Ramaiah and Karunakaran were impressive. Others didn’t get much scope.
Yaan Filem Review
Whenever a good subject is chosen it is important to pack it with the right energy and tight screenplay. Also, logic and rationalism is also required. In this film, the first half goes about with elements of romance, some action and some comedy. The interval bang was neat. But things were not that appealing in the second half. The length was dragging and the logic was missing. Even the ending was abrupt. Overall, the film has a good feel but it is better you don’t expect much from it. At the box office, this could be a below average fare.
