Vannathu Poochi Kollywood Movie Review

An unusual story, the tale begins with the life of the couple Arun (siddarth) and Chitra (Madhavi sharma). Both of them are ambitious professionals and in the urban lifestyle their prime focus is their career only. In this process, their only daughter Divya (sri lakshmi) tends to be left out and she starts feeling isolated and lonely. However, this gap is filled in the form of her grandfather (bala singh) when Divya visits him during her vacation at the village. Their bond goes strong and when the time comes for her to return, Divya refuses to go back. This results in an argument between Divya and her father. Finally, the little girl decides to hit the courts for her custody. Whether she is successful or not forms the rest of the story.

Vannathu Poochi Tamil Cinema Review

The director has come up with an unusual storyline and both the presentation and narrative have been apt. the dialogues were sensible, the script was neat, the screenplay was suitable. Music did its bit and though there are no lovely songs, the background score has been effective. Cinematography captured the moments very well, editing was crisp. Siddarth and Madhavi did their bit with ease and they carried out their role with elegance. Bala Singh was the right choice with his role and he looked very natural and realistic. Revathy made her presence felt with her cameo presence but the real show stealer was Sri Lakshmi who has given a matured performance despite her age and has shouldered the film well.

Vannathu Poochi Filem Review

The film might throw a rather unusual question to the audience on the legal rights and maturity of a child but at the same time it must be appreciated that this was a movie with a message that is much needed for the modern day couples. While the first half goes about with the regular elements of sentiment and melodrama, the second half takes a turn with the legal aspect and courtroom scenes. There is nothing in this for the mass audience but the family and the urban audience might have a thing or two to take home.
