Vallakottai Kollywood Movie Review
Muthu (arjun) is serving a term in jail and before he comes out, he gives his word to his cell mate Bala (prem) that he will take care of Bala's brother Satish. For this, he goes to Vallakottai and he is asked to surrender on account for a jameen's murder Eswarapandian (suresh) committed by his enemies Nachiyar (ashish vidyarthi) and his brother Sethupathi (Vincent ashokan). Meanwhile, Muthu comes across Anjali (haripriya) and falls in love with her. A twist of events happens and Muthu realizes who the actual culprit is. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Vallakottai Tamil Cinema Review
The director has come up with a routine storyline and though the presentation was good, the narrative was not upto the mark. The dialogues were punch packed, the script was average and the screenplay was not that strong. Background score was alright but two songs were well taken. Cinematography was impressive. Costumes were nice and the art department made its presence felt. Action king Arjun has yet again proved that he is still the best bet and has shouldered his role well. Haripriya is a vision of beauty and she gives a visual feast, she has shown potential and has got the power to reach the top league. Ganja Karuppu was not upto the mark, Ashish Vidyarthi was loud, Vincent Ashokan was okay, Livingston was alright.
Vallakottai Filem Review
The film runs on a typical commercial masala formula and there are fights, romantic songs, comedy and melodrama. While the first half goes about with the layering of the plot, the second half gets into few twists and fights. Overall, the commercial value is good but then the content is poor and the audience has seen such things before. The presence of Haripriya will bring the masses to the theatres. Overall, the film is average in depth but strong publicity is required to make it click at the box office.
Bharatstudent Verdict: Typical commercial masala treat
