Udhayan Kollywood Movie Review
A predictable tale, the story begins with Vasanth (arulnidhi) who works in a bank in Chennai. He along with his colleague Mukundan (santhanam) work together and Vasanth is a man with good heart and honest hardwork. He also falls in love with the beautiful Priya (pranitha). However, Priya's father is an auditor who works for a gangster and he seeks their help. When the goons come to attack Vasanth, they are shocked to see him as they reveal that he bashed up their boss once. Anyhow, truth is, Vasanth has a brother Udhayan (arulnidhi again) who is daring and fights if necessary. In between this comes Ayyanar (ashish) in search of Vasanth. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.
Udhayan Tamil Cinema Review
The director has come up with a predictable storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was well placed. The dialogues were well written, the script was regular and the screenplay was stable. Background score was good and only two songs were worth hearing. Cinematography was the added advantage. Editing was okay. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was colourful and appealing. Arulnidhi is good in few departments but he must work on his dance and intense expressions if he wishes to become an actor. Pranitha was a visual feast and she is a good package of sex appeal and looks. Ashish Vidyarthi was effective. Santhanam brought few smiles with his one-liners. The others did their bit as required.
Udhayan Filem Review
The film comes off with a focus on commercial elements than experiment with anything. Though the plot was flimsy it was the taking which keeps the audience engrossed to an extent. While the first half goes on a lighter vein with elements of comedy and romance, it is the second half that gets serious and there is a lot of action and melodrama. Overall, the film would have worked well if more twists were included. At the box office, this will be an average fare.
Bharatstudent Verdict: Routine but well presented!!
