Thamizh Padam Kollywood Movie Review
A spoof tale, the story begins with the backdrop of a village where male children should be killed as per the order of 'Nattamai'. However, the infant begs his granny to put him in goods train so that he can reach Chennai. The granny takes him along to Chennai and in no time he grows up (shiva). He goes to college and has friends (Nakul, Siddarth, Bharath, M S Baskar, Vennira Aadai Moorthy, Manobala). On the other end, he is an undercover cop like 'Pokkiri' and as that is not enough, he is smitten by the charms of a pretty girl (disha) who has a rich father. The love is like 'Kadhalikku Mariyathai' but when the heroine's father insults the hero, he decides to become rich and also locate his father. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Thamizh Padam Tamil Cinema Review
The director has come up with an excellent storyline and both the presentation and narrative have been good. The dialogues were witty, the script was well written and the screenplay was pacy. Background score adds to the moods and the songs were alright. Cinematography was good and editing was crisp. Costumes provided the nostalgic feel and the art department was apt. The real credit goes to Shiva for carrying out his role to perfection and generating enough comedy, Disha was pretty, Nakul was natural, Siddarth was standard, M S Bhaskar was hilarious, Manobala was neat, the others did their bit and added value to the film.
Thamizh Padam Filem Review
The film runs on various lines of Kollywood hits but then the makers have taken enough care on not being sarcastic or belittling the originals. Right from the first half to the end of the movie, it runs on a similar plane. However, one must have seen enough Tamil movies to be able to connect to the parody and as expected, there will not be an sequence or logic to such themes. It is a fun filled movie to be watched with a lighter mood. This will appeal to youth and masses as well. This one will click at the box office.
Bharatstudent Verdict: Hilarious and decent, worth watching
