Story: Set on the backdrop of Madurai and its surroundings, the story begins with Sundarapandian (sasi kumar) who is the only son of a rich landlord. But he is a very kind man and always helps his friends and others. In one such instance, he helps his friend to succeed in his love story. But the twist is, the girl happens to be Archana (Lakshmi) who was once Pandian’s lover. Anyways, Pandian helps them but the story takes a turn when Archana falls in love with him again. What happens after that forms the rest of the story. |
Presentation: The director has come up with an interesting storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was light hearted. The dialogues were well written, the script was good at places and the screenplay was upto the mark. Background score was very good but the songs were not that worthy. Cinematography was excellent. Editing was required during the second half. Costumes were suited to the backdrop while the art department was natural. Sasi Kumar has come up with a natural performance and he fits the role well. Lakshmi Menon suited the role of a village belle and she was expressive. Parota Suri brought few laughs. Vijay Sethupathy was neat, Sujatha was standard, Prabhakaran was alright. The others didn’t have much scope. |
Conclusion: Whenever a film comes from the camp of Sasikumar it is bound to be very rural oriented. But this time, instead of having too much seriousness he made it a light hearted treat. While the first half was more on the romance, comedy and action side the second half revolved around powerful dialogues and strong sentiment and emotional scenes. Overall, the film works due to the comedy flavor and positive ending. At the box office, it would be an above average treat. Bharatstudent verdict: Rustic treat but entertaining.. |
