Raatinam Kollywood Movie Review

Story: A well made tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Tuticorin and here lives Jayam (lagubaran) a happy go lucky youngster. He falls in love with Dhanam (swathy) and she also agrees to his proposal. However, Jayam’s brother Ashok (thangasamy) is into politics whereas Dhanam’s brother is a cop and uncle is a lawyer. An incident happens and both get caught by the police but they are let off after knowing Dhanam’s background. However, the policeman informs about the affair between both to the families. The lovers elope together after that and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Raatinam Tamil Cinema Review

Presentation: The director has come up with a known concept and though the presentation was different, the narrative was engaging. The dialogues were having an element of good humour, the script was adequate and the screenplay was average. Background score was suitable and songs were not that great. Cinematography was adequate and editing was okay. Costumes were having good nativity and art department was apt.  Lagubaran has done a good job in his debut attempt and he proves his mettle. Swathy was natural and had confidence. Thangasamy was effective. Ajaiathith made his presence felt,  Umasree was usual, Revathi was regular and Raja contributed in his own way.

Conclusion: Though it is normal to see many love stories making the rounds, there are only a few which stand apart. And this film has got the sufficient potential to be a paisa vasool entertainer. The first half takes off on a promising note and has some good scenes of humour whereas the second half gets into the serious note. The climax is something to touch the hearts of the audience. At the box office, the film will get into profit zone easily at the B, C Centers.
