Polladhavan Kollywood Movie Review

The film is a realistic portrayal of the life of a lower-middleclass young boy in Chennai. The director manages to make the realistic story very gripping and novel way.

Story:
The storyline is pretty simple. A young boy (Dhanush) hailing from a poor family has two dreams in life. One is to own a bike and the other is to woo a beautiful young girl. The boy's father gives all his life savings to his son so that he can settle down in life. But to the shock of his parents, he buys a bike with the money. Luckily for him, he manages to land a job in a bank. And his second dream also gets fulfilled when he manages to woo a girl (Divya Aka Ramya) whom he meets at the bus stand. But fate has something else in store for him. His bike gets stolen. And Dhanush is now in search of the stolen bike. His search leads him to the murky and dangerous underworld gang of Daniel Balaji, Bhavan and Kishore Kumar. The rest of the story is about how our young hero manages to come out of the murky world of crime and drugs and what happens to his family and his girlfriend.

Polladhavan Tamil Cinema Review

Performance:
Dhanush as the poor young boy gives a creditable performance. Dhanush also comes out well in the action and emotional scenes. Divya is gorgeous and her presence enlivens the otherwise rather gruesome proceeding of the underworld. Daniel Balaji, Bhavan and Kishore Kumar as the underworld gang members have come up with an excellent performance. G V Prakash's music is simply superb. The remix song Engeyum Eppothum in particular, stands out.

Bharatstudent Verdict:

The film is a bit heavy on violence and gore, but it only portrays the hard reality of the way the underworld operates. If you can stomach some violence, then the film is definitely worth watching.
