Pokkisham Kollywood Movie Review
Story:
A heart rendering tale, the story begins with Mahesh (Aryan rajesh) who is busy searching for a property document when he chances upon a diary of his father who passed away few years ago. That is the diary of Lenin (cheran) who was working as a sailor during the 1970s and it comprises of the love letters that he has written to the love of his life but which never got delivered. The story goes into the flashback when Lenin goes to Tamilnadu to visit a relative at hospital and here he chances upon Nadhira (padmapriya). In no time, they get to know each other and love happens but then Lenin has to get back to duty and from then on, he begins to write to Nadhira through the inland letters. Mahesh realizes that there are still few letters that his father had written but did not get delivered to Nadhira. He then decides to give those letters and gets going on a journey. What happened in the 1970s forms the essence.
Pokkisham Tamil Cinema Review
Presentation:
The director has come up with a nostalgic tale and though the presentation was excellent, the narrative was weak. The script was well made, the screenplay was dull, dialogues were sensible. Music in background was very good while songs didn't have much to offer, cinematography was top notch. Full marks go to the art department for bringing back to life the age of the 70s and the times of inland letters and posts. Editing was necessary to increase the pace. Cheran carried out his role in a typical way as he has done that before, Padmapriya was a showstealer as she looked sensuous and intense with her performance, Vijaykumar was standard, the others didn't have much to contribute.

Conclusion:
The film is a journey into the past and revolves around the long lost love lives of many who could be watching this movie. While the first half goes about with the blossoming of love, the second half shows the rough side of it and how efforts are taken to follow the heart. This is a treat for those who believe in tender love stories. However, the film has fallen flat due to the very slow narration and this kind of tests the patience of the viewer. It could have been an enthralling journey if there were few twists and equally good speed in the flow.

Bharatstudent verdict: Tender and touching but very slow
