Poi Solla Poram Kollywood Movie Review

A well knit tale, the story begins with Sathyanathan (Venu) who is a very satisfied man in his life since his family comprising of wife Saradha (Lakshmi), sons Uppilinathan (Karthik) and Viswanathan (Om) are all living together and though he has retired he has made enough to see him through the rest of his life. Even his children are all settled but then there is one last thing he desires for. Sathyanathan always dreamed of owning a house and for this he makes the right moves by taking a piece of land and also saving some money to build a house. On the other hand, there is Baby (Nasser), who is a mean, non-ethical, greedy real estate builder and he does not hesitate to use muscle power, crookedness to achieve what he wants. His prime objective is money and fame, soon his eyes fall upon the property of Satyanathan and in no time Baby manages to con the senior man into transferring the title onto his name and that too at a throw away price. The who family is shattered on hearing this and now they decide to resolve this situation using their intelligence. It is Upplinathan who comes into the picture and with the help of his friend Amritha (Pia)'s father, he devises a drama by creating a name Daddy (Mouli). They scout for an abandoned property and give an ad about it. In this process, he is also helped by Asif (Bosskey) who was a former associate with Baby. The idea is to get back the papers from Baby and also the money that he has swooped. What happens after that? Is Uppilinathan successful in his plan? Did Satyanathan agree for such an attempt? All this forms the rest of the story.

Poi Solla Poram Tamil Cinema Review

The director has come up with a neat presentation of the story and even the narrative was capturing enough to keep the audience intact. The dialogues were witty, the script was consistent and the screenplay was well executed. Camera was neat and the music suited well to the backdrop and the situations. Editing could have been a bit crisp but the natural locations and the pace made up for the drawbacks. Karthik has come up with an impressive performance and equally competent is Nasser whose body language is perfect for the role. Venu came out with a dignified performance and Pia gave her part along with beauty and emotion. The real show stealer was Mouli who walked away with all the credit. The others did their bit with ease and commitment which added a lot to the film.

Poi Solla Poram Filem Review

The film happens to be a remake of the Bollywood hit 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' but then the maker has included elements of nativity to get a local feeling. Though the first half starts on an easy mode with the regular elements of a middle class family, it is just before the interval and the second half onwards that the momentum takes a great peak and the culmination turns out to be really exciting. The film has it all to come up with a decent success and this movie has definitely come as  a breath of fresh air looking at the stale masalas and overdone comedies that are coming in.

Bharatstudent Verdict : Truly entertaining, worth watching once!!
