Pathinaaru Kollywood Movie Review
A love tale with a twist, the story begins with Siva (shiva) and Indu (madhushalini) who are in love with each other at college. Their bonding grows until one day Indu's father (abhishek) spots them. The issue is brought up at home and when Siva comes to talk about it, Indu's parents ask both of them to read a book 'Pathinaaru' which talks about the love story of a boy and girl since their childhood in a village. Reading this, Indu's mind changes and she decides to leave Siva. This puts Siva in a fix and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Pathinaaru Tamil Cinema Review
The director has come up with an interesting storyline and while the presentation was alright, the narrative was weak. The dialogues were okay, the script was having few hiccups and the screenplay was average. Background score was good and two songs were nice. Cinematography was not upto the mark. Editing was alright but was not sharp at the required places. Costumes were suitable to the backdrop while the art department was appealing. Shiva comes up with a versatile performance and scores but his screen space was limited. Madhu Shalini looks naturally beautiful and does her bit very well. Kasthuri was contained. The real show stealer was Abhishek with his performance. Black Pandi tried to bring some smiles. The others didn't have much to offer.
Pathinaaru Filem Review
The film has come up with a different treatment to the regular love tale but then it was the narrative which should have been sharp. While the first half goes about on the lighter mode, things get serious with each passing scene. The second half has dragged scenes which take away the momentum and also the dialogues were repetitive. Overall, the film would have worked if the technical values were strong and the length got trimmed. At the box office, this might be an average grosser.
