Pandiya Nadu Kollywood Movie Review
An alright tale the story begins with Sivakumar (vishal) who runs a mobile phone shop and is very soft and sensitive. He has a friend Sethu (vikrant) who helps him out whenever required. Meanwhile, Siva also falls in love with Malar (lakshmi) who is his tenant. Things take a turn when the local don Simmakal Ravi (somasunder) gets into a tiff with Sethu and later one engineer Nagarajan is killed by Ravi. Siva comes across a truth about Nagarajan which enrages him and he vows to kill Ravi. Why he did that and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Pandiya Nadu Tamil Cinema Review
The director has come up with an alright storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was not that absorbing. The dialogues were average. The script was predictable and the screenplay was weak. The background score was good but songs were not that catchy. Cinematography was the best part. Editing was crisp. Costumes were well designed to suit the nativity while the art department was apt. Vishal has tried something different and he has done a good job. Lakshmi Menon is a natural performer so she scores. Bharatiraja was impact creating. Somasundar was standard, Soori was neat. Vikrant was apt.
Pandiya Nadu Filem Review
The film happens to be the debut venture of Vishal as producer and it is a simultaneous release in Telugu. Though the premise of the film is nothing special it is the characterization and few other things that make the film watchable. The first half goes about with regular elements of romance, some action, little comedy but the second half is more serious and energetic. Still, there was good scope for the film to be effective. The film might not appeal the thinking audience but it has more impact at the B, C centers. Given the nativity and offbeat approach, it may result as an average to above average fare at the box office.
