Nagaram Kollywood Movie Review
Set on a flashback mode, Gate Selvam (sundar) is lying in the hospital and he recalls how he led a life in the jail for five years as he gets convicted for a crime. The life in the jail transforms him and with the help of his friend Sakkarai Pandi (bose venkat) who is a senior police officer, Selvam comes out and decides to lead a clean life. However, Pandi has his own motives and begins to use Selvam for that. In this process, Selvam comes across a junior artiste in films Bharathy (anuya) and falls in love with her. The twist occurs when Pandi has a clash with the don Kadhar Bhai (sreenivasan) and Selvam decides to help his friend. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Nagaram Tamil Cinema Review
The director has come up with a routine commercial formula and though the presentation was alright, the narrative could have been better. The dialogues were okay, the script was regular, the screenplay was moderate. Background score was nice but songs could have been better. Cinematography was average. Editing was crisp. Costumes were natural and the art department was appealing. Sundar has come across such roles before so nothing new from him. Anuya is not pretty but she is generous in skin show and provides full visual feast. Bose Venkat does well as a baddie, Sreenivasan was neat. Vadivelu made his own mark in his separate comedy track. George was general, Vichu was okay, Ponnambalam was moderate.
Nagaram Filem Review
The film seems to have started from where 'Thalainagaram' had stopped. While there is nothing new or variety in the story, it is the pace at which the film runs which keeps the audience engaged. While the first half is on the flashback mode with the regular action and melodrama, the second half gets into romance and some more action. Overall, it is a regular masala formula flick and the masses would be able to connect to it well. At the box office, a positive word of mouth will help the fate of the film.
