Bala (vivekh) is a religious and honest priest who lives by the law. One day, he is helped financially by Poochi (venkatraj) a professional killer working for a don Kattooran (kai thennavan) and eventually they become close friends. Story takes a turn when Bala loses his job, his parents and gets in touch with Poochi. Meanwhile, Poochi had committed a murder which is discovered by Bala and he decides to reform him. What happens from there forms the rest.
Naan Thaan Bala Tamil Cinema Review
The director has come up with a idealistic storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was not so. The dialogues were too preachy. The script was average and the screenplay was terrible. The background score was melodious but songs were poor. Cinematography was the saving grace to this film. Editing was weak at key places. Costumes were well designed to suit the backdrop while the art department was majestic. Vivekh did his best to bring life into the film and he was alright, Swetha was okay, Venkatraj was not upto the mark, Kai Thennavan was adequate, Sujatha was brief, Cell Mohan was poor. Others didn’t get much scope.
Naan Thaan Bala Filem Review
The film came in with a lot of hype and given the fact that it has Vivekh as the hero, the expectations were there. However, the film was not packed in the right format that can entertain. The first half goes about with elements of some humor and little romance along with some action. The interval bang was okay but the second half has spoiled the plot. Some scenes were very amateur and few expressions were overrated. Overall, this is a film which could have shaped well but could not. At the box office, this may not be a successful venture.

Bharatstudent verdict: Good thought but poor execution, can be ignored
