Naalai Namathe Kollywood Movie Review

Story:
A repetitive story, the tale begins on the backdrop of a slum and there is Udayappa (Ashish) who wants to help the slums. For this, he donates his entire wealth of about Rs 12 billion to the government and meanwhile, he also assigns two people Mani (Manivannan) and Ramu (Pradeep) to ensure that the funds reach the slum dwellers correctly. He also gets in touch with the collector Priya (Karthika) and asks her to monitor whether the two people he assigned the task are doing their job correctly or not. While this is on, the two villains in the form of politician Maha Ganapathy (Rajan) and Ramasamy (Thanikella) enter the scene and they decide to get away with the money by threatening both Ramu and Mani. Apparently, there is yet another man who is behind the screen and making all this happen. All this apart, there is also the minister's son (Sarwanand) who falls in love with the slum girl (Tanisha) followed by a dancer (Kiran) out to woo the customers. How does Ramu face the villains and bring the money to the poor forms the story.

Presentation:
The director is known for coming up with good flicks but this time he has failed in the presentation and the narrative. The dialogues were weak, the script was written shoddily and the screenplay was average. Even the music was a letdown with not much happening on the songs front while cinematography was mediocre. Editing could have been better but it was sloppy. Costumes and art department were okay. Coming to the cast, Pradeep's debut effort is good and he fitted the bill, Sarwanand looked handsome but did not have much to do except romance, same with Tanisha, Ashish Vidyarthy was his usual hamming self, Manivannan was regular, M S Bhaskar and Vayapuri gave their contribution of comedy, Rajan P Dev was normal. The others need no mention here.

Conclusion:
The film was a routine masala entertainer and there was nothing different or creative about it. the makers focused more on the masala and glamour show of Kiran and Rahasiya than the content itself. While the first half goes about with the regular elements of romance and songs, the second half gets into the action and melodrama episodes. Basically, the message was that the rich is getting richer while the poor is getting poorer. But the way it was driven was quite amateur. The film will fall flat at the box office.

Bharatstudent Verdict : Routine tale, can be ignored
