Mudhal Idam Kollywood Movie Review
Set on the backdrop of Thanjavur, the story is about Mahesh (vidarth) who is a rowdy and his only ambition is to become number one in the town. For this, he never hesitates to do any wrong activity. He falls in love with Mythili (kavitha) who is the daughter of a bus conductor (ilavarasu). Meanwhile, his mother (kalairani) dotes on Mahesh and finds him to be the ideal son. The story takes a turn with the release of Karuppu Balu (kishore) the number one rowdy from the prison. Mythili ends up running away from home to get married to Mahesh while Mahesh ends up killing Balu. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Mudhal Idam Tamil Cinema Review
The director has come up with a predictable storyline and while the presentation was neat, the narrative was routine. The dialogues were good at places, the script was average while the screenplay was passable. Background score was okay and two songs were upto the mark. Cinematography was regular. Editing was decent. Costumes were natural while the art department was suiting the moods. Vidarth comes up with a different performance this time and proves his mettle, Kavitha Nair looks seductive and has added value to her role. Kishore was intense and mean. Kalairani was usual. The others did their bit as required.
Mudhal Idam Filem Review
As such, there is nothing special in the film in terms of content or variety but then it is the narrative and few peaks in the movie which score. While the first half goes on a lighter note with the elements of romance and sentiment, the second half is more on the serious note. However, the film suffers due to the stereotype twists and audience knew before hand what was coming. This has good amount of commercial elements so the B, C center audience would relish it a bit. At the box office, this would be an average grosser.
Bharatstudent Verdict: Passable commercial entertainer
