Manam Kothi Paravai Kollywood Movie Review

Story: An entertaining tale, the story begins with Kannan (siva karthikeyan) who falls in love with his neighbor Revathy (athmiya). However, Revathy’s family is filled with ruffians who have strong muscle power. Kannan’s father (ilavarasu) is a building contractor. Meanwhile, Kannan spends time with his friends (parotta suri, singam puli, kishore). Before Kannan can express his feelings, Revathy’s marriage gets fixed. Meanwhile, Kannan’s friends (srinath, chams) come from Mumbai and they kidnap Revathy knowing Kannan’s feelings. But the story takes a turn when Revathy makes it clear she is not interested in Kannan. What happens after that forms the rest of the tale.

Manam Kothi Paravai Tamil Cinema Review

Presentation: The director has come up with a humorous storyline and while the presentation was simple, the narrative was entertaining. The dialogues were witty and comical, the script was natural and the screenplay was smooth. Background score was upto the mark and songs were okay. Cinematography captured the locations well. Editing was moderate and was required during the second half. Costumes didn’t have much to do while the art department was apt. Siva Karthikeyan looked earthy and fitted the bill well. Athmiya was quite expressive and confident. Ilavarasu was elegant. Parotta Suri, Kishore, Srinath, Chams added a lot of humour. Singam Puli was funny.

Conclusion: Though the context of the film might remind you of few films that came earlier, it is the taking which really grabs the attention and the performances. While the first half goes about with the elements of romance, comedy and some songs, the second half gets into some serious moments but again it turns into an entertaining climax. If only the makers had trimmed few scenes and cut short the length, it would have created a stronger impact. At the box office, the film has chances to be a profit grosser.
