Madurai To Theni Kollywood Movie Review

Story:
A tender tale, the story is about a bus journey between Madurai and Theni. In this travels a young man (vinod) who is all set to take up a job as a primary school teacher in a small village. In the same bus is a beautiful girl (srithika) who is actually saved from a major trouble by the young man before both of them get into the bus. Both seem to have a liking for each other but don't express it. Meanwhile, the conductor (rajkumar) of the bus has got his own antics to keep things busy. The story takes a turn when the girl gets down at her stop and the young man also does the same, he follows her to her place and reveals his intentions of marrying her to the girl's parents. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a romantic tale and this time the presentation and narrative have been in sync. The dialogues were sensible, the script was neat, the screenplay was sharp. Background score and music added to the moods though there was not a major share of melodious songs. Cinematography deserves a special mention here. Editing was alright, costumes were realistic while art department was natural. Vinod Kumar came up with a good performance and he had a positive body language. Srithika was competent and was not nervous given her debut venture. Raj Kumar was a show stealer and gets good points, Singamuthu was good, Nellai Siva was neat, Muthukalai was mature, the others did their bit and added value.

Conclusion:
Madurai based movies have often been known for their sickles and hardcore action but this is one film which deals with a rather softer side of the temple town. The pace of the film is good and while the first half goes about with the tender building of the romance, the second half goes to show the twists and turns. The technical values and performances have been good and though there are not much of commercial elements, the film is appealing given its freshness and variety approach. This will be an interesting treat for those who look for a different flavor.
