Kumki Kollywood Movie Review
Story: An emotional tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Tamilnadu-Kerala border and it begins with Boman (vikram) who is a mahout and he has an elephant Manickam. He has an uncle (thambi ramaiah) and a friend (ashwin raja). The story takes a turn when Boman decides to return a favor to a friend and brings Manickam to Kumki. They have to drive away the dangerous elephant Komban which has been ravaging that village. Boman falls in love with the village chief’s daughter Alli (Lakshmi Menon) but the village has a tradition of 200 years. What will Boman do forms the rest of the story.
Kumki Tamil Cinema Review
Presentation: The director has come up with an unusual storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was dramatic.  The dialogues were well written in some places, the script was different and the screenplay was good in parts. The background score was appealing and three songs were very melodious.  Cinematography has taken the film to a new level. Editing was neat but required in the second half. Costumes were rustic and the art department was natural. Vikram Prabhu has done a very good job though he is a debutante but he has to work a little on his emotional scenes. Lakshmi Menon was a showstealer, she was very expressive. Thambi Ramaiah brought a lot of smiles. Ashwin was apt. The others did their bit as required.

Conclusion: The very subject chosen for the film is quite offbeat and it takes a lot of challenge to show the relationship between a man and an elephant. But the director has woven it convincingly and touched the strings rightly. The first half goes about smoothly and looks promising. The second half comes down in pace but it picks up eventually and climax was unexpected. Overall, this is a film which should be watched for the flavor and the emotional intensity. At the box office, this will work for sure.
