Story: A tale from the past, the story is set on the backdrop of the early 80s and Kathir (hemachandran), Poongothai (nandini) are working at a cotton mill called Krishnaveni Panjaalai. This is owned by a good natured businessman (rajiv). Kathir is in love with Poongothai and he gets her elder sister married to the person she loves. The story takes a turn when the newly weds are found dead and even the factory shuts down due to workers dispute. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with a nostalgic storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was good in parts. The dialogues were alright, the script was mediocre and the screenplay was average. Background score was good and the songs were suiting the situations. Cinematography was competent. Editing was upto the mark. Costumes were rustic while the art department was excellent. Hemachandran has given a good performance and equally good was Nandini. Rajiv Krishna made his presence felt. Bala Singh was usual, Thennavan was neat, M S Bhaskar was effective.

Conclusion: This is more like a trend which has increased to make films of the bygone era. While the first half revolves around the elements of romance and the layering of the plot, the second half gets into somewhat boring scenes and it only gets back on track due to the riveting climax. Overall, this is a film which is good in the making but it suffered due to poor execution. At the box office, the openings might be good but success cannot be guaranteed.
