Karthik Anitha Kollywood Movie Review

A typical love tale, the story is set on the backdrop of an apartment and here live Karthic (Rathan) and Anithaa (Manju). Karthic is the son of Ramachandra Murthy (Kota) while Anithaa is the daughter of Krishnamurthy (Rajan P Dev). Both of them live in the same block and they grow up from childhood. As time passes, Anithaa develops feelings for Karthic but never expresses them. Meanwhile, the boy and girl keep doing their mischievous pranks to get at each other and in no time the situation gets serious and they become enemies. Anithaa feels hurt but then she lives on the hope that one day Karthic will come back. However, things take a turn when Krishnamurthy decides to get Anithaa married and fixes her alliance with a new groom (Abhinay). The wedding is fixed after Anithaa completes her college. Meanwhile, Karthic begins to feel the absence of Anithaa in his life and in no time, he realizes that he is in love with her too but when he is all ready to go and share his thoughts, Ramachandra Murthy passes away. Karthic is shocked and to help him out, Krishnamurthy gets him a job. Anithaa from her end makes it clear to her parents that she is in love with Karthic. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Karthik Anitha Tamil Cinema Review

The director has come up with a tender romantic entertainer and though his narrative was interesting, the presentation did not fare well. The script was alright, the screenplay was good. Dialogues were witty at places and the music was also appealing with some good numbers. Cinematography was a letdown this time. Editing was just average and the comedy element was missing a great deal. The art department was a good one this time and the costumes were also apt. Rathan came up with an impressive performance and his chemistry with Manju was also good. Manju also suited the bill very well. Kota came up with an exceptional performance and it was different to see Rajan in a positive role. Manohar provided few laughs.

Karthik Anitha Filem Review

The film is more of a youth oriented one and though there is no special message, it is all about the romance of the youngsters. While the first half goes about with the fun and the blossoming feelings, the second half gets into serious romance and the sentimental drama that follows. The film could have been a lot better if the comedy was included in high dose. For now, the film might go well with the youth audience and the family audience to an extent.

Bharatstudent Verdict : Youth entertainer, can be watched once
