Story:
A very courageous approach, the story begins with Prasanna who is an orphan but with a brilliantly imaginative and creative mind. He is good at poems and expresses his anguish or state of mind through his poems, but all these are for his reference only and he does not believe in giving it to any magazines. However, one day he comes across a poem in a magazine and realizes that it has been penned by a girl which surprisingly is very similar to the one he wrote. This triggers the curiosity in him and he decides to find out who the girl is. His probing leads him to details that she is a college student who lives in Kutralam and writes her a letter about his experience. Incidentally, he gets a response too and slowly the letters start nurturing into a friendship which slowly blossoms into love. Finally, he decides to meet that girl and goes to Kutralam and stays with his friend (Harish). Luckily for him, he discovers that the girl he wants to meet is his friend's sister who is out of town on college excursion. Trouble begins when the friend accidentally dies which is caused by Prasanna and he immediately decides to redeem his sin by taking up the responsibility of the friend's family and his three sisters as his own. The girl gets back only to realize that her lover is none other than the new 'Brother' and things get complicated. What happens in the end forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
Director Marimuthu needs to be given full marks for coming out with an intriguing subject and ensuring that the presentation and narration coincide with the message. He is well supported by some excellent music which has some really catchy numbers along with some brilliant camerawork which captured the locales of Kutralam beautifully. The editing has been crisp and the costumes were apt. Prasanna has yet again come with a stellar performance and his expressions surely touch the audience. Equally good is Udhayathara who shows ease in her transition from a vibrant girl to a distressed lover who expresses most of her emotions through her eyes. Vijaykumar was elegant as the father, the lighter side has been taken good care of by Vadivelu who came up with a good comedy. The others were upto the standard.

Conclusion:
It is essential that when you are handling a subject which involves delicate human emotions, the director has to get the best out of the cast and stitch it with some really good screenplay and editing track. All the factors have worked out well in this film and though there is an overdose of sentiment and idealism in it, the film surely has it to capture the audience throughout its length. Success is written for this movie and the makers will recover their costs with profit. The director has shown tremendous potential.

Bharatstudent verdict : Worth watching!! For those who want some quality cinema.
