Story: fun filled tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Kumbakonam and here lives Seenu (vimal) who runs a small restaurant. Though it doesn’t have good business, he runs it to keep up his ancestral tradition. He gets help from an elderly chef and his daughter Maya (oviya). On the other hand, there is Madhavi (anjali) a food inspector who is keen on shutting down the restaurant as she feels it is not hygienic. In comes Raghu (shiva) brother of Seenu and a smart conman of sorts. He falls in love with Maya and surprisingly, even Madhavi falls in love with Seenu. What happens after that forms the rest of the story. |
Presentation: The director has come up with an entertaining storyline and the presentation was natural while the narrative was good. The dialogues were well written, the script was efficient and the screenplay was appealing. Background score was adequate and songs were glamorous. Cinematography was decent and editing was required at few places. Costumes were natural and art department was apt. Vimal underplayed his role well and did that fine, Shiva was good as the conman, Anjali looks sensuous as usual while Oviya has that raw sex appeal. V S Raghavan was apt and Ilavarasu was effective. |
Conclusion: Amidst the various commercial potboilers and action treats, this comes across as a Rom-Com and has good elements of humour in it. While the first half goes about with the various elements of romance, songs etc, the second half gets into various twists and turns along with the entertainment quotient. Overall, this is a film which will appeal to all genres of audience and especially the family folks. At the box office, this is bound to be a profit grosser. Bharatstudent verdict: Enjoyable entertainer |
