Kadhal Endraal Enna Movie Review

A thoughtful subject, the story is about the bold and brash youngster Veera (Vishwa) who is intelligent and kind. His life changes when a new family enters his neighbourhood and his eyes fall on Kamala (Diya), Veera falls for her at the first sight and from then on looks at chances to propose his feelings for her. Finally he manages to reach her and vents out his heart, Kamala turns his proposal down and from then on Veera tries to reason with her for the refusal. After much persuasion he discovers that Kamala is already married to the police inspector Adhisayaraj (Charanraj). Veera reflects the situation and notices that there is always an element of stress and fear in Kamala's eyes. He finally decides to call her for a friendly chat and after showing some resistance Kamala reveals her haunting past and how her father (Manicka Vinayagam) ended up in trouble and other incidents. Veera understands that she is more like a captive than a wife and is the least bit happy about her marital life. He also realizes that Kamala loves him but is unable to express due to the social obligations and fear of her husband's wrath. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

The subject chosen for the movie is commendable and the director must be appreciated for his bold approach but then he has lost out mainly on presentation and narration of the plot. He has focused more on the glamour aspect despite having a good subject on hand and has been fairly supported by the camera and the music departments. The editing was crisp, the script was held in grip but the screenplay could have been much better. Vishwa who has made his debut has shown promising skills and he could shine if guided properly, Diya looked keener on exposing than anything else which overshadowed her potential to act. Charanraj was classy with his experience and so was Manicka Vinayagam with his matured performance. Not much can be said about the other characters.

It was really an impressive effort by the director to have come up with a very social and practical issue but then instead of stressing more on the story he got swayed by the skin show aspect which ended in the protagonist being lusted rather than getting sympathy. The comedy track should have been worked upon which was essential for the film's success. For now, the youth audience will have a great feast, thanks to Diya and her daring shows but commercially it is hard for the movie to run smoothly.

Bharatstudent Verdict: Good subject, bad presentation, youth will like it for the glamour aspect.
