Jigarthanda Kollywood Movie Review
Story:
Karthi Subramaniam (Siddharth) is an aspiring filmmaker and he gets a task to come up with a movie on gangsters. For this, he decides to do a film on the life of the fearsome Psycho Sethu (bobby simha) in Madurai. He is accompanied by his friend Poorni (karunakaran). He is also joined by a saree stealer from the streets (lakshmi). How things take shape forms the rest of the tale.
Jigarthanda Tamil Cinema Review
Presentation:
The director has come up with an unusual storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was quite absorbing. The dialogues were well written. The script was above average and the screenplay made it lot better. The background score was melodious and three songs were worth watching. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was crisp. Costumes were well designed to suit the royalty while the art department was majestic. After a long time, Siddharth got to show a different side ie a rugged face to his profile. Bobby Simha was too good and he stole the show. Karunakaran added to the entertainment. Lakshmi Menon had a brief presence but she was appealing. Ambika was apt. Ramachandran was regular. Others didn’t get much scope.

Conclusion:
Though the title was somewhat offbeat and the fact that it had Siddharth evoked mixed reactions, the director was confident about his product and he proved his mettle once again. The first half goes around with elements of humor and some romance also. The interval bang was quite promising and the second half revolves around with few twists. The only setback to the film was its length, if that was trimmed the impact would have been stronger. Anyhow, the feel is quite positive. At the box office, the film will strike a chord with the youth and masses so success is written strongly.
