Jaggubhai Kollywood Movie Review
Story:
Set on the backdrop of Australia, the story is about a rough and tough veteran cop Jagannathan (sarath) and he is also a bachelor which makes him even more fearless. His life takes a turn when he receives a call from Australia. His mind goes back twenty years ago when he meets Meena (ilavarasi) while on a mission and gets into a relationship. However, a misunderstanding occurs and she deserts him. Now, Jagannathan receives a call that Meena has died but her last wishes were to take care of their girl child which shocks him. He goes to Australia and meets Monica (Shriya) who is a very chirpy and bubbly girl. Jagannathan also takes the help of man in black (Goundamani) and he doesn't reveal his true identity to Monica. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has touched base strongly with Japanese super hit but then he has made it decently in terms of presentation and narrative. The dialogues were neat, the script was written well and the screenplay caught the attention. Background score was good but the songs were not upto the mark. Cinematography was excellent and captured the locations very well. Editing was required at few places. Costumes were trendy and the art department was rich. Sarath Kumar came up with a matured performance and he wins points with the family audience, Shriya looks seductive but then her innocence takes over this time, Ilavarasu was neat, Goundamani managed few laughs, Vijayakumar was regular, Hamid Ansari was okay, the others did their bit as required.

Conclusion:
The film happens to be a remake of the Japanese super hit 'Wasabe' and though it is nowhere near the original in terms of quality, the makers have included the desi elements to give it a nativity feel. While the first half goes about with the elements of comedy and action, the second half gets sentimental and emotional. Overall, the production values are high and the technical aspects are really good. However, due to the lack of good quality songs and weak comedy track, the film had its setback. At the box office, this will be an above average grosser.

Bharatstudent Verdict: Emotional and action packed, recommended.
