Irandu Mugam Kollywood Movie Review

A good tale presented badly, the story begins with Parthasarathy (karan) who is the son of a cook and he dreams to become a minister. He has good mimicry skills which gets him close to the chief minister when he visits Partha's village. He becomes the local leader which doesn't go well with the already existing Thamizh Sakthi (nasser). However, situation arises where Thamizh Sakthi has to help Parthasarathy become MLA. He comes to an understanding that Partha must help in all his shady deals. Soon, Partha becomes a minister as well but then it is the arrival of the IAS officer Sarveswaran (satyaraj) as his secretary who vows to clean the system. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Irandu Mugam Tamil Cinema Review

The director has come up with an interesting storyline and though the idea is good, the narrative was not upto the mark. The dialogues were good at places, the script was weak and the screenplay was not tight. Background score was good but songs were a failure. Camerawork was average, editing was crispy, costumes were okay, art department was moderate. Karan and Sathyaraj gave competent performances to give life but their characters were not etched properly. Suhani looks sweet and provided the glamour quotient. Nasser was natural, Anuradha was apt, Kumaravel was usual, Livingston was alright, Kanja Karuppu gave few smiles, Anu Haasan was standard.

Irandu Mugam Filem Review

The film would have been a top scorer if only the maker had worked on the script properly. Already, with the name of Satyaraj in it, the expectations were high and while the concept was appealing, the team failed to evoke the required entertainment and twists to the plot. While the first half goes about with the building up of the storyline, the second half becomes quite predictable. Overall, the film lacks the right kind of conviction to score at the box office.
Bharatstudent Verdict : Disappointing!!
