Azhagana Ponnuthan Kollywood Movie Review

Story:
A perverted tale, the story begins in the backdrop of Kodaikanal and here lives Karthik (karteesh) who is a teenager. Thanks to his hormones, he falls flat for Jennifer (namitha) who lives alone and is much elder to him. It is not only Karthik but there are several other men who keep lusting Jennifer and more than the actual happenings, Karthik lives in a dream world of his own imaging songs with Jennifer and other romantic things. However, the reality is something different and he uncovers a truth that changes the course of his thoughts. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a rather sleazy concept and both the presentation and narrative have gone down the drain. The dialogues are amateur, the script is weak and the screenplay is pathetic. Background score didn't help much but one song is hummable. Cinematography failed to capture the scenic locations. Editing was raw, costumes were neat but the art department could have been better. Karthick tried his best to prove his mettle but he doesn't have it. Namitha was the saving grace and she has given a complete visual feast to the maximum extent possible. One really wonders how Parthiban got into all this. Nizhalgal was natural, Mayilsami was mediocre, Vasu Vikram was plain, others didn't have much say.

Conclusion:
The film is a cheap imitation of the Hollywood classic 'Summer of 42' but by no means are these two any comparison. The film is nothing but a sleazy perverted tale that would appeal to the hardcore frontbenchers who wants to see visual feast on the screen. The content, technical values, production values, all are weak and the concept as such has got no code of conduct. Namitha fans may enjoy it but at the box office, it is very hard for the film to survive.
