Arasangam Kollywood Movie Review

A surprise package, the story begins with an unknown series of assassinations and kidnappings of well known scientists, entrepreneurs and other biggies in society. Things take a turn when Manoj (Biju Menon) a senior cop gets kidnapped too and the police department calls upon the services of Arivarasu (Vijaykanth). Actually, he is an instructor at the police training academy and the news of Manoj's disappearance gets him to the act for two reasons, Manoj is not only his best friend but also his brother in law. In this process, he chances upon Aarthi (Navneet Kaur) who is smitten by him and in no time both of them fall in love and get married to each other. Meanwhile, the search for Manoj is on and all roads lead Arivarasu to Canada where he is received by the sensuous Lara (Seril Brindo) the Canadian cop who helps with the investigation. She comes across in some of the most revealing outfits and high heels and there is suspense behind it. All roads take them both to Chandru (Rahul Dev) who gives Arivarasu the slip. What happens from there? Where is Manoj? All this forms the rest of the story.

Arasangam Tamil Cinema Review

The director has come out with a rather refined story keeping in mind the hero's political image and the presentation has been quite mature. The narration of the plot looks clich├ęd but then the script was tight and the screenplay was strong enough to make things happen. Good background music and brilliant camerawork has supported well for the movie and the editing could have been a bit better to make the movie perfect. Full marks to the stunts, they have come out really well. Not much in the songs and other departments. Vijaykanth has come out of his well and presented himself very sensibly, sophisticatedly and elegantly. Biju Menon had quite a bit to do and he was good too. Navneet was hot and sexy while Seril had the oomph but both their roles were limited so the glamour is enjoyed by the audience. Rahul Dev was strong as evil but theatrical in expressions at times. The others like Sreeman, Riyaz Khan made brief appearances but carried their roles with ease.

Arasangam Filem Review

For the first time, the movie has not got the regular 'Vijaykanth' stunts and fireworks, the movie had shades of 'Vettadu Velaiyadu' at some points but then the matured performances and the good twists in the plot made the movie a nice entertainer. The first and second half have come out in equal proportions of momentum which has given the audience an occupied treat and with the refined treatment of the subject without unwanted dialogues and mindless violence, this is truly a classy movie. The film will find a very good response and hit looks very strong on the cards. Well done team!!!
