Aegan Kollywood Movie Review

A repeat tale, the story begins with Shiva (Ajith) who is a well known cop and fearless to the core. He begins a new story by killing a gangster in Hong Kong and now he comes to India on a special mission. His job is to protect Pooja (Pia) who is studying in a college at Ooty since she happens to be the daughter of Ram Prasad (Devan). Ram had actually turned an approver and testified against the dreaded don John Chinappa (Suman) and now his life is at stake and so is his daughter's. Shiva joins the college in a new disguise and there his eyes fall upon Mallika (Nayantara), the teacher. Shiva also comes across Narain (Navdeep) who realizes that it is his brother and his long lost mother (Suhasini). Meanwhile, John is on the lookout for Pooja and would not stop at anything to get his hands on her and her father. So does Shiva get successful in protecting Pooja? What happens to his love with Mallika? Does his family accept him? All this forms the rest of the story.

Aegan Tamil Cinema Review

The director has come out with the regular plot but then the presentation has been quite good though the narrative had its flaws. The dialogues were excellent when it came to comedy and the script was written with wit but the screenplay turned out to be a bit loose at few ends. The music was superb and the cinematography was equally impressive but then editing had to be more fine tuned and the pace of the movie was disturbed due to some unwanted arrangement of sequences. Ajith was good overall but then he did not have the type of bubbly nature that Shahrukh had in the original, Nayan was glamorous and did her skin show as required, Pia looked pretty, Navadeep was himself, Suman looked a bit strange. Jayaram was a total entertainer and Haneefa, Satyan did their bit with good humor. Suhasini was gracious and the rest were alright.

Aegan Filem Review

The film happens to be a straight take from the Bollywood hit 'Main Hoon Na' and though the slick presentation was good, the performance aspect was slightly jittery. While the first half of the film came out with flying colors due to the hilarious comedy, things got serious during the second half and also the rhythm broke due to unwanted songs. The film will appeal a lot to Ajith fans since he was never seen in such a role but overall it will turn out as a decent entertainer not a great blockbuster hit.

Bharatstudent Verdict : Typical Ajith treat loaded with action, can be watched once
