Aayiram Vilakku Kollywood Movie Review

A repeat tale set on the backdrop of Madurai, the story begins with Lingam (sathyaraj) whose very name sends shivers down the spine of people. Not many have seen him. He has an enemy in the form of Rathinam (suman). In the same town lives Gopal (shanthnoo), a young man who is very honest and hardworking. He is in love with Megha (sana khan). The story takes a turn when Lingam decides to become a good man and he is impressed with Gopal's honesty. However, he doesn't reveal his true identity. But Rathinam comes up with a plan which can ruin the whole thing. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Aayiram Vilakku Tamil Cinema Review

The director has come up with a regular storyline and while the presentation was neat, the narrative was not strong. The dialogues were decent and they were good at places. The script was not well written and the screenplay was stereotype. Background score was good and songs were hummable. Cinematography was effective. Editing was neat. Costumes were natural while the art department was suiting the moods. It was Sathyaraj all the way who shouldered the film and added value. Shanthnoo was good in his action role for the first time. Sana Khan oozed glamour and romance wherever required. Suman was standard. Ganja Karuppu gave few smiles. Same with Theepetti Ganesan.

Aayiram Vilakku Filem Review

Whenever a story with Madurai backdrop has come, it has always been action packed. The same is the case with this movie except that the dose of emotion is high. While the first half focuses on the romance and comedy part, the second half gets into the melodrama mode and the much needed twist. Due to the pace, not many idle moments are there but then most of it looks like a beaten track. Overall, the film might appeal to the B, C center audience and those who love formula movies. At the box office, this could be an average grosser.
