Aarumugam Kollywood Movie Review

A routine and known tale, the story begins with Aarumugam (bharath) who sells idlis on the street. He has a close friend in the form of Karthik (sathya) who is from a very rich family. Things take a turn when Karthik's sister Malini Devi (ramya) eyes a piece of land that is owned by Aarumugam who is not willing to part with it since it has the grave of his mother (seetha). Malini uses her wily plans and succeeds in separating Karthik from Aarumugam, later Aarumugam's sister also gets raped and he is totally shattered. But in no time, he realizes the cause for this and decides to wreak revenge on Malini. How he does that and what role does Yamini (priyamani) play in this forms the rest of the story.

Aarumugam Tamil Cinema Review

The director has come up with a known theme and though the presentation and narrative has been racy, the taste was familiar. The dialogues were all punch filled and typical mass flavored, the script was alright and the screenplay was adequate. The music was apt for the backdrop and the songs, cinematography was impressive, editing was required at few places, costumes and art department were efficient. Bharath has come up with a good show from his regular lover boy roles and has got close to the masses, Priyamani was buxom and hot, she sets the screen on fire with her glamour, Ramya was ravishingly sexy but this time, her performance takes the credit, Sathya was suitable, Karunaas provides the required relief, Saranya is sweet, the others did their bit as required.

Aarumugam Filem Review

Though the film engages the audience in a big way, the setback for this is, the subject and the storyline has already been visited. Many could see traces of 'Annamalai' in this one and to be honest, there is not an iota of difference in most of the sequences. The technical aspects and performances were good but since the entire thing was predictable, there was nothing that could keep the audience guessing. A lot of stuff for the mass audience so they might like it, the film will go through at the B and C centers.

Bharatstudent Verdict : Typical masala treat, nothing new
