Sultan Malluwood Movie Review

An uninteresting tale, the story begins in the backdrop of a medical college and there is Sivarajan (Vinoo) who is a happy go lucky guy since the girl he loved Nishitha (Varada) has been accepted by his parents and they are now officially engaged. Nishi happens to be Sivan's junior at college and just like the regular love birds, they have their share of fights and reunions. Soon, Sivan introduces Nishi to his group of friends - Naufal, Sunny, Praveen and Vivek (Anoopchandran, Sreejith Ravi, Praveen and Karthik). They are known as the 'Five Man Army' and then Sivan is called 'Sultan'. Whoever, things begin to change when a new boy enters the college and he begans troubling Nishi, also the name of Sivan as 'Sultan' keeps causing few troubles to him and ultimately he gets into a murder case and his life and future looks bleak. Meanwhile, Nishi is left with no choice but to think twice about her beliefs. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Sultan Malayalam Cinema Review

The story is stale and the director has come out with a rather shoddily written script that has many loose ends and the screenplay is way below average. The presentation aspect could have been better but then the music was not impressive and the camerawork was plain. The dialogues lacked the flavour of the youth and the editing was raw. Vinoo tried his best to salvage the movie with his performance but his character was not etched well. Nishitha looks seductive but not pretty and she has to work on her expressions. The good thing is there was chemistry between the lead pair which was exciting. The comedy between Jagathy and Salim was not convincing. The others could not do much with their roles as the entire character building was not strong.

Sultan Filem Review

The film takes off on a rather slow mode and the major flaw lies in the script. While the first half goes about in a slow motion mode, the second half culminates into a rather stale climax. The film is not a major crisis or headache but at the same time it is not that great either to keep the audience intact. The sentimental dose is too high and the loopholes are many but due to the weak plot that is entwined, there is a certain limitation for all to perform their best. This will vanish in no time...

Bharatstudent Verdict: Boring and disappointing!!!
