Story: A different tale, the story is about an aged woman Meenakshy (mallika) who files for an Ozhimuri, a legal document of separation from her aged husband Thanu (lal). She is accompanied by her grown up son Sharath (asif ali) who is a teacher in government school. The very case raises the curiosity of many including the opposition counsel Bala (bhavana) who starts chasing Sharath to know the story. The flashback deals with how Thanu grows up under the powerful matriarch Kali Pillai (shweta menon) his mother. Due to her overpowering nature and dominance, Thanu gets affected. Whether the Ozhimuri is granted or not forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with an interesting storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was engaging.  The dialogues were matured, the script was well knit and the screenplay was appealing. Background score was melodious and songs were worth humming. Cinematography was the best among the lot. Editing was decent. Costumes were natural while the art department was upto the mark. Shweta Menon has come up with a powerful performance while Asif Ali has got into his role nicely. Bhavana looks cute and did her bit as required. Lal was good. The showstealer was Mallika with her intense performance. The others didn’t have scope.
 

Conclusion: Coming up with the age old concept of Nair Tharavadu, the storyline runs on a sensible line and one can see the traditions of the past. While the first half goes about with the layering of the plot, it is the second half which connects the dots very well and with nice sensibility. Overall, this is a film which is meant for audience who are seeking a different entertainment and value for money. At the box office, this will be a success.
