Ithu Nammude Katha Malluwood Movie Review

Story:
A remake tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Kuttanad village and here live three friends. Vinod (asif ali) is aspiring for a government job so that he can marry his uncle's daughter Kalyani (ananya). Santosh (nishaan) wants to open a computer centre while Kochumon (abhishek) is keen on going to gulf. Their lives take a turn when they decide to help their friend Mahesh elope with his lover Aishwarya (amala paul) and get married. In this process which gets violent, Vinod ends up losing his interview for government job, Santosh loses his leg and Kochumon goes deaf. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a riveting storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was alright. The dialogues were neat, the script was well written and the screenplay was better though it bumped in few places. Background score was average. Cinematography is well done. Editing was crisp but was not sharp at the required places. Costumes were natural while the art department did its bit as required. asif Ali shoulders the film very well and does justice to his role. Nishan is a natural performer and he scores. The real show stealer was Abhishek with his performance. Ananya repeats her role as in the original, Amala Paul was alright, Devan was brief, Kalaranjani was effective.

Conclusion:
The film is a remake of the Tamil super hit movie 'Nadodigal' and though there is no comparison with the original, the remake still manages to capture the attention. While the first half is on a lighter mode, it is the second half which gets serious and intense. The technical values of the film were good and it was shaped up with enough nativity. However, it may not appeal to those who have watched the original. At the box office, this could be an average to above average grosser.
