Film Star Malluwood Movie Review
Story:
Set on the backdrop of a village called Chitthiramthodi, the story begins with Nandan (dileep) a villager who prepares a script for a film. This is about the trouble the villagers faced due to the land mafia and how many lost their livelihood and their lives. Nandan begins to chase superstar Suryakiran (kalabhavan) and he wants the star to take up the project so that the problem can be highlighted. At first, Suryakiran is annoyed with Nandan and throws him away but eventually he looks at the script, likes it and takes off the shooting in the same village. As usual, there is trouble in the form of villains and what happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with an interesting storyline and while the presentation was okay, the narrative was very poor. The dialogues were dull, the script had visible flaws while the screenplay was not gripping. Background score was good in parts and songs were not upto the mark. Cinematography was disappointing. Editing was average. Costumes were natural while the art department was adequate. Dileep has come up with a decent performance and scores. But it is Kalabhavan Mani who gets to score the maximum with his act. Rambha was there for glamour. Muktha was nice, Suraj Venjaramoodu brought few smiles. Devan was standard, Thalaivasal Vijay was effective.

Conclusion:
The film has come up with a good thought but then it was executed in the weakest fashion. The main culprit for this is the poor script and its handling. While the first half takes off interestingly, in ten minutes things begin to fall off and lose energy. The second half is disappointing and is weak in all aspects. Overall, the film is unable to score in technical and directorial departments. At the box office, the film has a strong chance to sink without trace.
