A familiar subject, the story begins with Zakhariah (Jagathy) who is a private banker and he returns from the gulf. He has a very straight forward life with his wife Molly (Urvashi) and their daughter Teena. Zakhariah's life gets quite monotonous and regular and he lacks the punch that he enjoyed during his gulf stay. His life takes a turn when one of his clients Girija Menon (Mukesh) gets close to him. Menon is a textile businessman and he is a major womanizer though he is married to an orphan Sreelakshmi who cannot conceive a child. Soon, Zakhariah begins to explore the other side of life with the help of Menon and soon he begins to transform himself in his style and appearance. To add to his luck, he gets an open offer from Urmila (Padmapriya), wife of an architect that she is willing to continue a relationship with no strings attached. From then on, Zakhariah begins to ignore business, family and gets into a rather dicey game of illicit affair. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
The director has come up with a known subject but then it was his narrative that made things interesting, the presentation however lacked the shine. The dialogues were witty, the script was well written, screenplay was neat. Music was a major letdown and so was the cinematography that failed to capture few right moments. Editing could have been better, costumes and the locations were apt and suited the moods rightly. Jagathy came up with a fabulous performance as the man with mixed feelings, Urvashi was equally impressive with her balanced act, Mukesh has done this before so it was easy for him, Padmapriya was there for a short time but her presence was appealing, Thilakan made his presence felt too. The others did their bit to add value to the movie.
The film was well narrated in a engrossing manner but then there were few key spots where the momentum went off track, especially due to the unwanted songs. While the first half goes about with the brighter side of things and trying the unexplored dark side, the second half takes a bit of melodramatic turn but then it was sensible enough. However, it would have been more effective had the scenes been more crisp and the issue had more depth. The film will turn out to be a decent fare at the box office though it will not be a major success.

Bharatstudent Verdict : A known tale well told, can be watched once.
