Story: A
good treat, the story begins with the life of Sumangala (kavya) who
elopes and gets married to Viswanathan (irshad) who is a government
employee. Despite family situations, Irshad gets into drinking and
begins to pick up fights with Suma everyday. Vexed with his behaviour,
Suma decides to teach him a lesson. She discovers Viswanathan's faith in
the local deity Kambakkattu Devi and decides to pretend that she got
possessed by the deity. Viswanathan changes but Suma's pretension is
assumed for real by all the villagers. What happens from there forms the
rest of the story. |
Presentation: The
director has come up with an interesting storyline and while the
presentation was nice, the narrative was decent. The dialogues were well
written, the script was written without much flaws but the screenplay
was effective. Background score was nice and songs okay. Cinematography
was fitting. Editing was required during critical situations. Costumes
were moderate while the art department was matching the situations and
looked apt. Kavya Madhavan has come up with a riveting performance and
impresses. Irshad was correct to the role. Kalabhavan Mani was valuable.
Sreeraman was standard, Jagadheesh was alright, Indrans was regular. |
Conclusion: These
are the days when false beliefs and presumptions tend to change many
lives so this film comes across with some realistic and logical approach
towards situations. While the first half has been quite breezy, it is
the second half that really scores the brownie points. Though there is
not much style in the film, it is the content and the way the story was
told which appeals to the audience. At the box office, this is likely to
land in a profit zone and will appeal to the family audience. Bharatstudent verdict: Entertaining... |
