Asuravithu Malluwood Movie Review

Story: A stale sequel, the story begins with Don Bosco (asif ali) who doesn’t know who his father is and is brought up by his mother (lena) who is scared of the notorious don Abbaji (vijayaraghavan). One day, Don sees a murder of a customs officer and he refuses to give false testimony despite severe torture by police. The story takes a turn when Don discovers that even his father was a noted goon who was killed by Abbaji. He then decides to defy everyone and becomes a notorious don himself. In between, there is Marty (samvrutha) who is in love with him. How everything ends forms the rest of the story.

Asuravithu Malayalam Cinema Review

Presentation: The director has come up with a rehashed storyline and while the presentation was alright, the narrative was slack. The dialogues were charged up, the script was written with weak commercial value and screenplay was not prompt. Background score was good but songs were not upto the mark. Cinematography was top notch. Editing was regular. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was suiting the moods. Asif Ali did his best to fit the role but not that effective. Samvrutha looks sensuous, Vijayaraghavan was apt, Lena was okay, Kalabhavan was good, Siddique was neat. The best among the lot was Baburaj who got to mouth some worthy dialogues. The others didn’t have much scope.

Conclusion: The film is being touted as the sequel to the hit movie Stop Violence but then it is not as special as the original. While the first half goes about with the regular elements of action and romance, the second half deals with the sentimental twist and other layers of violence. However, the story didn’t have enough material to engage the audience and most of the scenes looked superficial. Overall, this is a film that takes off well but doesn’t have the right landing. At the box office, this could be a below average fare.
