Arjunan Saakshy Malluwood Movie Review

Set on the backdrop of cochin, the story begins with a journalist Anjali Menon (ann augustine) who publishes a letter in her newspaper. This letter is from a witness by name Arjunan who claims to have seen the murder of the dynamic collector Feroz (mukesh). As a result, Anjali starts getting threat calls to reveal the witness. She decides to get the witness to a café. The story takes a turn with the arrival of a young architect Roy Mathew (prithvi) who comes to Cochin for interview and coincidentally sits at a table near Anjali in the café. He is mistaken to be Arjunan and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Arjunan Saakshy Malayalam Cinema Review

The director has come up with a gripping storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was not that strong. The dialogues were slippery, the script was alright but the screenplay was bumpy in few places. Background score was neat and songs were okay. Cinematography is top notch. Editing was poor. Costumes were natural and trendy while the art department was apt. Prithviraj has given a regular performance and nothing different was expected from him. Ann Augustine looks pretty and she has improved in her performance. Biju Menon was alright, Jagathy tried to get few smiles, Salim Kumar was standard, Suraj Venjaramoodu was effective. The others didn't have much to offer.

Arjunan Saakshy Filem Review

Films that deal with social awakening need a tight grip over the screenplay as it must get the audience into the film, that was missing here at many places. While the first half takes off breezily and looks promising, things go routine in the second half and end up as a regular formula treat. The climax should have been better tuned. Overall, the film has few impact creating points but the feel is not consistent. At the box office, the openings will be good due to hype but success is doubtful.
