Story: A decent tale, the story begins with Manoj Varma also known as Manu (bala) who lives with his mother and is based in Dubai. He is a businessman but runs into heavy losses. His mother suggests that Manu should take the help of his tycoon father Prathap Varma (Saikumar) who has parted ways with her. Manu meets and returns only to hear that Prathap has passed away leaving behind a will. Much to the shock of the relatives and Manu, the will gives major share of property to Alexander (Mohanlal), another son of Prathap who lives in Mumbai. Manu decides to get Alex's signature so that he can usurp the property. After reaching Mumbai, they discover that Alex is in a mental asylum. They make the necessary efforts and get him out so that the will can be rewritten, what happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with an interesting tale and he pads it with good presentation and narrative. The dialogues were okay, the script was neat, the screenplay was apt. Background score was mediocre and songs were not upto the mark. Cinematography was relevant. Editing was alright, costumes could have been better, art department was good. Mohanlal carries out his role with élan and no issues from him. Aswathi looks seductive, Bala was okay, Siddhique was standard, Sudha was brief, Jagadish was annoying, Saikumar was elegant, Innocent was regular, the others did their bit as required.

Conclusion: The film is loosely based on the lines of the Hollywood hit movie 'Mr Deeds' and though it is not that hilarious, the film manages to appeal. While the first half goes about slowly, things change with the arrival of Mohanlal. The second half gets downright interesting and there are few emotional moments as well. Overall, the film scores for its presentation and unconventional performance from Mohanlal. At the box office, this will not be a hit but it will be a profit grosser. Bharatstudent Verdict : Good, worth a watch |
