Yogaraj...But Sandalwood Movie Review

Story:
A good tale gone bad, the story begins with Yogaraja (naveen) who is a psychology student practicing astrology out of interest. He chances upon Sihi (neetu) who comes from London for a work. In no time, Sihi who lives a different life is impressed with Yogaraja's attitude. Meanwhile, the story takes a turn when Yogaraja proposes to Sihi and before her reply comes, he is killed in an accident. While his soul curses god, Lord Yama comes and turns back time before the accident. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a different storyline and while the presentation was neat, the narrative went off track at key places. The dialogues were standard, the script had few logical loopholes while the screenplay was not that gripping. Background score was good in parts and two songs were upto the mark. Cinematography was the highlight. Editing was sharp but few scenes got jumped. Costumes were stylish while the art department was apt. Naveen Krishna was effective but went low at few places. The film belonged to Neetu as she gave a capturing performance. The other credit goes to the duo of Srinivasamurthy and Suchendra Prasad for their acts.

Conclusion:
The film takes off on an interesting note and the element of surrealism and presence of Yamaraj gets the curiosity of the audience. However, the interesting way with which the first half begins, the same tempo is not maintained in the second half and this leads to disappointment in the audience. Also, there are few flaws in the way the climax gets handled and few questions remain unanswered. On the whole, the film has a good storyline and a good first half, but loses all the expectations in the second half. At the box office, this will be an average grosser.
