Villain Sandalwood Movie Review

Story: An outdated tale, the story begins with Tippu (adithya) who works as a henchman for powerful dealers (rangayana raghu, shobaraj). Everyone fears Tippu and some smart people use his name without his knowledge and get their work done. Same is the case with Anu (ragini). One day, Tippu saves a girl from getting raped and this is seen by Anu, she falls in love with him. But Tippu doesn’t reveal his true identity. The story takes a turn when Anu’s brother, a crime journalist gets murdered and Anu discovers the true identity of Tippu and holds him responsible. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Villain Kannada Cinema Review

Presentation: The director has come up with a regular storyline and while the presentation was okay, the narrative was nothing different. The dialogues were average, the script was old and the screenplay was impractical. Background score was alright and songs were a letdown. Cinematography was okay and editing was not that sharp. Costumes were usual. The art department was colorful. Adithya had a depressing look and he didn’t have a positive energy. Ragini looks raw and sexy but nothing for her in terms of performance. Shobaraj was okay, Rangayana Raghu was regular. Dharma was decent, Malathi Sardeshpande was moderate.

Conclusion: Sometimes, one fails to understand how the makers conceive a film when it doesn’t have the right content, weak screenplay and lack of momentum in the plot. While the first half goes about with the routine elements of action, some romance and songs, the second half fails to deliver the required impact. Poor technical and production values add to the woes. Overall, this is a film which would be hard to impress the audience so success is very difficult at the box office.
