Thipparahalli Tharlegalu Sandalwood Movie Review
Story:
A boring tale, the story begins with three people - a dhobi (omprakash), tailor (komal kumar), barber (s narayan) who are friends but then all of them go through same problem. They are unable to repay the loan and though they want to lead a decent life, it is not happening. Their lives take a turn when they chance upon a bag containing a lot of cash. This belongs to a corrupt politician so the trio decides to hide the cash at a place. Since they are not sure how to go about spending the money, they take the help of Kanwarlal (ambarish), a convict who comes out of prison. Kanwarlal dons the role of an NRI and they decide to bring about a change in the society through development projects. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has attempted to come with a message oriented tale but then he has failed miserably. The presentation was poor and the narrative was terrible. Dialogues were dull, the script was haphazard and the screenplay was erratic. Background score was not upto the mark and songs had no impact. Cinematography was average. Costumes had not much to do while the art department was also plain. Editing could have been better. Narayan, Om Prakash and Komal Kumar did their best to get life to their characters but their roles were not etched properly, the saving grace of the film is Ambarish, Umasri was boring, Sadhu Kokila was annoying, the others didn't have anything to offer.

Conclusion:
The film suffers mainly due to poor writing and pathetic screenplay. Most of the scenes are disconnected and they look forced. While the first half takes off on a mild note, it is not until the arrival of Ambarish that the film gets some momentum. However, due to the poor execution of the plot and some weak etching of characters, the film has turned out to be a dud. It is very hard for the film to survive except for those few hardcore front benchers who might believe in some illogical stuff.
