Sandalwood Guru Sandalwood Movie Review

Story:
A stale tale, the story begins with Guru (manas) who works with a TV channel and is quite ambitious as he wants to achieve something big in life. His life takes a turn when he meets Maya (akshata) but Guru doesn't reveal his identity for his own reasons. Meanwhile, a flashback comes into the picture and Guru is shown as a warrior in his previous birth. He gets into a swordfight with the villain (sathya) and even during that time, he is in love with Maya who is also in her previous birth. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a rather confusing storyline and both the presentation and narrative were disappointing. The dialogues were dull, the script was sour, the screenplay was erratic. Background score was blaring and songs were not upto the mark. Cinematography was very poor. Editing was weak. Costumes were artificial and art department was below average. Manas tried to do something with his character but in vain, Akshata Shetty was new and though she was sensuous, her performance was amateur. Sathya was alright, Soujanya was okay, C R Ramesh was standard, the others didn't have much to offer.

Conclusion:
The film is a hotchpotch of various elements and just when one thinks that it has to do with reincarnation theory, it goes into a different direction. While the first half was confusing, the second half was complicated. Added to that, the weak performances and the poor technical standards contributed to the poor experience. There is no creativity in the film and one fails to understand why so many dialogues were there in English. This is going to sink at the box office.
