Romeo Sandalwood Movie Review

Story: A below average tale, the story is about Ganesh (ganesh) who is a habitual liar and takes everything lightly. Ironically, his parents also support him in everything. Ganesh’s father uses some influence and gets him a job in a bank. There Ganesh sees the regional manager Shruti (bhavana) and falls in love with her. He begins lying to her giving a big shot picture. Shruti falls in love with him and they get married. After marriage, Shruti discovers the truth and sends divorce papers to Ganesh. This brings realization in him and what happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Romeo Kannada Cinema Review

Presentation: The director has come up with a predictable storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was not upto the mark. The dialogues were good at places, the script was moderate and the screenplay was alright. Background score was interesting and three songs were worth listening. Cinematography was superb. Editing was required during the second half. Costumes were stylish and trendy while the art department was apt. Ganesh has given a good performance and he fits into the role well but the image in this movie may not be liked by his fans. Bhavana looks gorgeous and attractive in songs. Sudha Belawadi was standard. Rangayana Raghu and Sadhu Kokila brought relief with their comedy. Ramesh Bhat was regular. Avinash was average.

Conclusion: The film comes across as a thoughtful one on paper but then such subjects require deft handling of the script. While the first half goes on the lighter note with elements of romance, comedy and songs, the second half gets serious and it revolves around the ethics and human values. However, not many scenes were convincing and this fails to create an impact on the audience. Overall, this is a film which takes off well but starts fizzling out as it progresses. At the box office, this could be an average grosser.
