Story: A stale tale, the story begins with Bharadwaj (rakesh) who lives a lonely life and he gets floored when he sees the seductive Parie (niveditha). He wants to marry her and he joins her Lambani community and learns to make illicit liquor. However, the marriage thing doesn’t work and dejected, Bharadwaj comes out from there and sets up his own distillery unit. In no time, he reaches great heights and this attracts Sumedha (harshika) towards him. Just when Bharadwaj thinks Sumedha is in love with him, he realizes that she was physically attracted to him and she actually loves Chandramouli (nagkiran) his business rival. What happens after that forms the rest of the story. |
Presentation: The director has come up with a regular storyline and while the presentation was alright, the narrative was not that appealing. The dialogues didn’t add much value. The script was written weakly and the screenplay was not upto the mark. Background score was good and two songs were worth listening to. Cinematography captured the moments nicely. Editing was crisp. Costumes were well made while the art department was apt. Rakesh has given a decent performance and he does justice to his role. Niveditha looks very erotic and she gives a good visual feast. Harshika Ponnacha was glamorous. Nagkiran was natural, Usha Uthup was okay, Sardar Sathya was standard, Sharat Lohitashva was usual. The others didn’t have much scope. |
Conclusion: The idea of coming up with an emotional entertainer and the man caught between two women and a cruel destiny is good but then such concepts require good handling of the script and a gripping narrative. The audience must engage into the movie. However, that didn’t happen in this one. While the first half goes on a different note, the second half goes on a different note and there is a disconnect of sorts. If only enough depth was brought into the emotional scenes, the film would have worked. At the box office, the chances are very less that it can score success.
Bharatstudent verdict: Could have been much better |
