Olave Mandara Sandalwood Movie Review

An interesting tale, the story runs on two tracks. First, there is Sriki (srikanth) who sets off from Bangalore to Orissa. This is to meet his lover Prithi (akanksha) and here is the twist, he goes on foot to do that. Second, there is the old couple Rathna and Nanji (rangayana and veena) and Nanji is physically challenged but Rathna is taking her to Kasi and Varanasi, the twist here is, he is taking her on a cartwheel. What are the experiences for Sriki, does he meet Prithi? What happens to the journey of Rathna and Nanji, do they make it safe? All this forms the rest of the story.

Olave Mandara Kannada Cinema Review

The director has come up with an unbelievable storyline and while the presentation was alright, the narrative was gripping. The dialogues were okay, the script was impractical and the screenplay was alright. Background score was good and two songs were nice. Cinematography is the major highlight of the film. Editing was amateur. Costumes were not having much to do while the art department was average. Srikanth looks confident and has a positive body language but he has to work on his appearance. Akanskha is a striking beauty and has a strong appeal. Rangayana Raghu was the saving grace for the film while Veena was adequate. Nasser was not used to his fullest. Sharan was okay, Sudha was standard.

Olave Mandara Filem Review

The very thought of walking thousands of miles and dragging a cartwheel is a different feel for the viewers. This is a rather filmy concept but it is the take and the packaging which appeals to the audience. While the first half is more on the introduction of the subject, the second half gets into the twists and tales. The film clicks due to the technical values and also due to some impressive performances. At the box office, this has a chance to score success.
