Meghave Meghave Sandalwood Movie Review

Story:

A boring tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Nepal which has its own set of Kannada settlers and a marriage is about to take place. This is the wedding of Chandramukhi or Charmi (Gracy) who gets engaged to a US based Kannada man. So, in order to bring in more excitement the family invites an entertaining troupe from Karnataka and this has the hero Raja (Raam) as one of its member. Charmi's fiancé is a money minded person and before the wedding happens, few incidents take place that get Charmi closer to Raam. Raam tells her to elope with him and she gets ready for it. But as luck would have it, Charmi gets caught by the Nepal police and is booked under the case of prostitution. The truth is, this is a plan of Raam who wants to wreak revenge on her since three of his family members die and he thinks it is due to Charmi. However, love gets the better of revenge and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:

The director wanted to come up with a tale of twists but somewhere in the middle, he lost his grip. The presentation was not upto the mark and the narrative got confusing and complicated. The dialogues were below average, the script was not tight, the screenplay was barely impressive. Music could have been better but it was a let down and despite such beautiful locales, even the camera department could not capture the moments. Editing was tolerable. Raam is yet to improve on his acting and body language, he has a long way to go if he wants to prove his mark. Gracy Singh was a total misfit as she was looking plump, more like an aunty. All her charm and magic of bollywood days is gone. The seniors like Shobha Raj, Sanketh Kasi, K S L Swame stood up to their standard of acting. The others were just about okay.

Conclusion:

The film could have turned out to be an impressive love tale with twists and turns but then the poor script, dialogues and of course the performances have made it into a blooper. While the first half goes about with the regular elements of romance and songs, the second half gets melodramatic and serious with the sentiment angle creeping in between. Overall, there is not a moment that the audience can actually feel attached to. The film will fall flat at the box office.
